According to Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD), today marks the 28th anniversary of the 21 Minimum Drinking Age Act.  MADD is celebrating the anniversary, and today’s blog post talks about the research behind the law and the impact it’s had on underage drinking and driving.

The 21 Minimum Drinking Age is an often-debated piece of legislation. What do you think? Does it reduce alcohol abuse among youth under 21? Is there a decrease in DUIs in that age group because of the law?

We’ll be addressing this issue in more depth in the next month, providing some competing perspectives on the law and a look at how the U.S. law compares to other countires.
