Offenders might get to use breath devices

State Attorney General Marty Jackley has asked lawmakers to allow portable breath testers called SCRAM Remote Breath as part of the 24/7 sobriety program.

The mobile breath testers would be another component in South Dakota’s 24/7 sobriety program that currently includes ignition interlock devices in vehicles, drug patches and electronic alcohol monitoring devices.
