Conference organizers are expecting a record number of corrections professionals to take part in in-depth workshops, continuing education, and a sold out Resource Expo with the latest technologies and tools for the community corrections&#160;industry.<\/p>\n<p>Drunk drivers still represent nearly 15% of the U.S. probation population each and every year. Two not-to-miss sessions on managing DUI offenders&#160;include:<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Implementing the Impaired Driving Assessment for Community Corrections: Preliminary Results From a Multi-Site Pilot&#160;Study<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Monday 2\/27\/2012 11:00:00 AM&#160;<\/strong><strong>\u2010<\/strong><strong> 12:30:00&#160;PM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"National Highway Traffic Safety Administration\" href=\"http:\/\/nhtsa.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Highway Traffic Safety Administration <\/a>and APPA have developed a new Impaired Driver Risk Assessment Tool that is currently being implemented in multiple probation agencies for a 12 month period. Project researchers will be presenting information on the implementation of the pilot as well as some preliminary&#160;findings<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Supervising the Worst of the Worst DUI&#160;Offenders<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Tuesday at 3:30 pm \u2013 5:30&#160;pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>San Diego County Probation\u2019s Felony DUI Program was implemented in 2006, and since then their successful approach has received accolades from around the country, including the National Association of Counties (NACO) Achievement Award and recognition from MADD and the California Office of Traffic Safety Law Enforcement.
